Compression clothing banned this year in UCI events?

Is this going to happen? I wear a nike combat(basically a tight elasticated dry fit t) tshirt under my jersey, makes me more comfortable in the drops, I have a skins long sleeve compression top that I wear at the gym that is a bit more advanced, wore it once at the track and it felt more comfortable.

I was planning on getting a compression layer from Japan thats made for sprinters but might be a waste of money now, the japanese medalist club shorts are great.

Where are you racing that would be paying attention to this UCI ruling?

Its not compression clothing its the PU coated GB track skinsuits and some of the more esoteric TT suits Garmin have been experimenting with that got UCI excited

As nothing has appeared in the rules yet there isn't anything of substance to discuss. However, I very much doubt the UCI will be imposing rules on items worn underneath racing skinsuits!

The UCI seem to be going down the route of issuing 'clairifcations' rather than updating the rules. This is the doc people are talking about:

P36 for the compression rules

Its a good question. Whats the difference between compression clothing and being too fat for your lycra?

There is another UCI technical publication here in a new Quarterly "Sport and Technical" update

Just wear two layers or lycra in a too small size. Sorted.

Thanks for that. Still impossible to police if you wear a compression base layer and only take your skinsuits off in private.
Seems a very bizarre rule and like most of the UCI's current attitude, petty and unecessary. Though banning the ridiculous Sphinx handlebar should have been done last year.

I'm not sure if sphinx bars are banned or not from that, I think they are just using it as an example of a 'technical innovation' that would need to be approved before use, rather than banning them, but I could be wrong.
