So it spent 2 months locked in public with no back wheel?

I presume it's to lock your helmet to the bike, rather than to lock the bike itself.
Still if you think cyclings so dangerous you have to wear a helmet why are you even thinking of taking it off while you get a coffee? Lethal.

Guy at shop recommended two big D Locks.

Guy with brand new bike decides to lock rear spokes just to the frame (and saddle) with one, and front qr wheel to rail with the other. So nearly a textbook safe lock. But somehow miles away.

Darwin's law applies to theft too.

It's to lock your bike up at the cafe using your helmet.

Front wheels safe though.

Removing a lefty wheel requires time, and a complex ritual. Which can only be carried out during a full moon.

Well it requires an allen key, and remembering which of the two bolts turns the wrong way. Which is enough to stump me.

Quite a clever way of knicking bike thieves, turns out this guy had over 10 stolen bikes at his house...

I agree.

And it's not even entrapment as they are not inducing crime, they're merely providing a temptation and seeing if anyone bites.

I know someone that works on the cycle theft team they do this all the time. Normally with the tyres hardly inflated and the brakes tightened right up...

Over the weekend I took the kids, on the Mundo, to the cinema.

Cable lock through rear triangle and wheel. Done.

99% of the posts on here would be fine up here.
