Yes. Impossible to get circuit time at weekends and evenings unfortunately (plus the clashes with racing opportunities).
Market research suggested enough people would be able to attend a midweek session.

I'd be up for this, if a train down wasn't going to cost over £100! Curse living up north...

Cheers for posting this, RPM. Definitely worth taking a day off work just for the cornering coaching alone.

Some people could potentially get away with taking only a morning off I guess. Session finishes at 1230.

Balls to that. I'm taking three days off and my work can just deal. :-)

Thanks for the info. Can't do these but would definitely do other opportunities. Nice and local to me too.

@betty if you can get down here, you're welcome to say with me.

Bothwell just alerted me to this, I so want to do it but next tuesday is a no :(

I'm going to sign up for the 25th though, I can probably take the morning off and my colleagues will just have to deal with lycra-me in the afternoon.

Cheers again for posting this up, RPM. I went today with Ada and it was excellent. The chap barely batted an eyelid when I turned up for a road coaching session on a fixed wheel whip with spoke cards and owls all over it. Flipped the wheel to ss and had a great afternoon hooning it up and down the circuit. I'm still rubbish at corners but a lot happier about riding much closer to other people. A++ session, would ride again.

It was really good. Will sign up for the next one if i'm around on that date.

I was knackered from riding last night and didn't enjoy sprinting at the end of the session.

Holls, did you ride back with other girls?
I took a central line - all the way back to west london.

If anyone's thinking of using public transport to get to redbridge for the next session - i took an overground to stratford and then changed to central line without any problems.

Nobody said anything about owls!

There's a surcharge for displaying depictions of birds of prey during BC coaching sessions. (They are encouraged though).

Hilariously, I managed to get lost on the way out and had to foreveralone it back.

I wonder if BC do any coaching sessions on how to tell one's left from one's right.

Do owls and cats get on? They both have similar faces from the front, maybe they can mistake one for the other and hilarity ensues.

They went to sea in a beautiful pea-green boat, you don't get much better "getting on" than that!

Hats, pls. They didn't just go to sea, they actually got married on an island paradise. Don't write it off as a mere holiday romance.

Apropos of this, here's a link detailing some of the things that can go wrong in a paceline with the use of some tiny metal cyclists. I was doing a lot of these things :-)

I find it's something that makes a lot more sense after you've tried it and made the mistakes yourself.

I'm signed up for this tuesday but am sadly out after crashing yesterday. I have neurapraxia in my right arm, meaning my arm is in a cast and until I've seen more specialists tomorrow I don't know how long I'll be off the bike. Also I crashed the bike with carbon forks so I'm not riding it until I've had it checked out properly anyway...

Hope anyone going has a good time, and fingers crossed there'll be more sessions when I'm back riding again.

Hmmm, this might sound ridiculous but how advanced is it going to be? I'm going to start racing very soon and I have done a British Cycling ride course before which I found very, very basic even though it was aimed at a higher level...

It's a progressive session. Aimed at those who want to get into racing, but with enough scope for riders with more or less experience.

You won't have done anything like this before as we've only just started doing women and U23s. What exactly did you do and who ran it?

I hope so! A group of us are hoping to set up our own team as a natural progression of our training rides... we'll see, it's early days still.

Oops sorry, never saw the reply to this. I did it with BC in Birmingham about 3 years ago?

I looked this course up though and looks really good! It's a bit late this year for another I guess but will they do it again next season?

Will there be sessions in the new year, RPM? I really enjoyed the one I did and I quite fancy taking my wretched Pinarello out so I can finally tell people that I've done some form of riding on it, but I haven't got any holidays left to take until next year starts. Or is it too early to tell?

I won't have that free due to surplus of stuff to do before Christmas and no holiday left in which to do it in :(

This is basically what I get for giving in to my mother's demands that I visit her.

I can think of almost nothing worse than having to put up with my mother AND essex in one day. Maybe if I had to drive my mother through essex in a car, that would probably be the pinnacle of horror.

Any chance of arranging ones in the New Year for school holidays? I would love to do one of these but weekdays are going to be tricky. (also super advance notice would be good for train bookings)

Cycling facilities and coaches are very busy at weekends, so I try the best I can to chose dates which are going to work and hope they are available.
