The Thames Bridges Bike Ride was originally set up by the son of a stroke survivor and his friends who wanted to raise money for the Stroke Association. Now in its 22nd year, the ride sees over 2,000 families, friends and keen cyclists from across the country take to their bikes to raise much needed funds to support stroke survivors.
This year the ride takes place on Sunday 10th May, with three routes:
• The 50 mile extended,
• The 34 mile classic
• The 8 mile family route
The extended and classic routes begin in Southwark Park, and go over 16 of London’s most iconic bridges, ending in near Hampton Court at Hurst Park. The family route is lovely cycle starting and finishing in Hurst Park.
Finally, as we cheer in all our wonderful cyclists at the finish line, riders, families and friends are welcomes to our finish area in Hurst Park which is a perfect spot to swap your bike for a bite! The finish area brings everyone together to enjoy entertainment, food, games for children, and health information stands.
If you want to get your cycling into gear this year, you can sign up to take part in Thames Bridges Bike Ride here: http://www.stroke.org.uk/tbbr or you can call us on 020 7940 1359. You can sign up as an individual, or even take part as a team (we offer discounts for teams over 8).
