Maybe made by Ortleib for Brooks?
That's what I'd assume. I can't imagine that there would be another German producer of waterproof panniers using the Ortleib mounts.
I bought three Klick-Fix, then discovered that I couldn't buy a fourth as they'd stopped production, and annoyingly in the move to Ortleib's system they'd changed the colour slightly.
I emailed Brooks and swapped my new Ortleib for what I thought was a new-old-stock Klick-Fix in the right colour.
It turns out that a buckle is on upside down on the one they gave me so I am guessing it was a return they had knocking around, which is obviously not a massive issue but a bit annoying nonetheless.
I keep meaning to take it over to a friend and ask her (she has a sewing machine) to flip the buckle.
Great that they swapped it out for you, but a bit shocking that they sent you faulty goods.

China
Thanks for having a look. I read somewhere that their panniers are now made in Germany.
On a side note, does anyone else find the whole accessory line of Brooks gear odd? With 1000 euro jackets it seems that they are turning into a fashion house. I love their saddles, but question the direction the company is taking and hope that their core saddle business doesn't suffer because of it.

I think they use the Ortleib retention system now- however mine are all Rixen and Kaul Klick-Fix.
I've used the smaller ones a lot and they do exactly what I want, I've only used the larger ones a couple of times.
They are very, very secure, and apparently waterproof.
Other than that I don't have much to report I am afraid.
Haven't heard of the Klick-Fix ones. Seems that they have gone through several versions. Any idea if yours are made in China or Germany?

Dammit that is truly absurd.... In the best possible way. Brooks luggage, any good? Like to know dets if pos.
If I'm not mistaken it's just fancy Ortleib with a high price tag because it says Brooks on it. The previous version of their panniers used the Arkel mount, but were made in China. A bit dear, if you ask me.

Thanks for the info. Nev. As we are almost the same height, and both like our bars high, could you please answer one more question for me? This is the one I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere; what's the length between the seat (center where the seatpost is) and the center of the bars? Thanks if you are able to measure it, and no worries if you can't.

I'm planning on building up a Straggler and am a stuck between choosing the 56 and 58. Seems to me like the Straggler runs a size bigger than the Cross Check, but I spoke with Surly and they told me this wasn't the case. It's got me baffled.
Nev, if you don't mind answering, how tall are you and what's your cycling inseam? Do you find the 56 fits well? I also like higher dropbars and my bar and seat height about the same.
Thanks.

Just bought a nice retro front rack off PhilJimPott here. I've got some panniers but I'd quite like a small rack top bag to fit some work essentials in. Any suggestions for something nice and compact? The top of the rack is about 13 x 24 cm.
Might be best to re-purpose a seat bag as rack top bags from all the usual suspects are around 30cm and up. I was surprised that their aren't any in the size you want.

Sorry, forgot to add, guards will come when I get the racks/panniers/bag.
It will be Grand Bois + mudguards for road riding and knobblies no guards for offroad.
I'm pretty clueless about which guards and rack to go for at the moment but I'll start researching them a little closer to when the bike is ordered. I've got a bike fit mid August so not much is going to happen before then.
The Tubus Logo, while spendy, is a fantastic rack due to its lower center of gravity and generous heel clearance.

Thanks. Never noticed any sort of squirm. I'll pay it some mind on my next ride.
