The reason nobody buys SRAM is that as soon as the first finished picture of the bike is put online, someone comes along within minutes and says the rear derailleur housing is either too short or too long.
That's my third favourite hobby! Closely behind critiquing bartape wrapping and bird watching.

I think the rocking is a known issue - something to do with the pedal compressing (check back a few pages). Seems to happen quite fast to my cleats too. Quite annoying.
You'll see a lot of the pros on Speedplays using the SIDI carbon sole protector with their cleats. Personally I find the feeling becomes really 'icy' if you have lots of float. Works well enough though. (If anybody needs the 3 hole baseplates because theirs are worn, PM me).

I'll give TP a shot. Dabble with GC, but it's complexities and sheer power sometimes feels really awkward. Like what @miro_o said. I might bother to sit down and watch a whole load of youtube videos about it.
