A Pelago Rasket shows up on local eBay and I couldn't resist. Barely used and half the price of a new one.

Regarding ads on Youtube; since a couple of years I have installed Brave Web browser as a "YouTube viewer" as it block ads flawlessly (at least on Mac OS).

Just built this up as a pub bike/26" BMX klunker-thing.
The frame is quite nice with Tange Prestige tubing but not exactly in a pristine condition.

Cheers, yeah this is probably the sensible choice combined with a Wald basket.
The Pelago Rasket looks a solid kit as well, the basket size seems just right. Pricier and probably a bit heavier as well.

And I can not decide for black or silver finish.
Luxury problems. :)

What to do with too many unfinished projects: buy a frame on eBay.

Quite light with Tange Prestige tubing and a 1" headtube.
Patina is there, but no dings or other issues, other than the seat post area has been welded at some point. Time will tell how it will hold up.

Came across some advice from Park Tool that seem to make sense.
Just have to find the motivation for the 2 extra cuts... :)

If the post is still stuck, it may be possible to cut the post off and then cut it out of the bike. Cut the post close to the frame. The original post may be cut out completely with a “jab saw.” This is a hacksaw handle that allow cutting inside a blind hole. Cut the post in four places. Use care not to cut into the frame. After cutting, hit the post to collapse it. Remove the pieces. NOTE: Do not attempt to remove a carbon post by cutting it out.

Im with a very stuck seat post, LBS failed to remove it and I decided to follow Sheldons guide step 13 hacksaw it out.

if nothing else works, the final resort is the old hacksaw blade trick. Cut the seatpost off so that about 1/2" is left sticking out, then insert a hacksaw blade into the seatpost and carefully cut a slit in the post. This is very laborious, and you run the risk of damaging the frame if you cut too far, but this approach cannot fail. Once you have cut the slit, grab one edge of the cut with a locking plier and roll the seatpost up inside itself and pull it out.

First slit was made, and still no chance to "roll it into it self" to move it even after a 2nd one was made..
Does hacksawing more slits make sense or are there any other options at this stage?

Would prefer to avoid the Caustic Soda if possible...

LBS managed to free the stem and bottom bracket.
Seat post remain very stuck.

Cheers! The tubing is nothing special but the paint really "pops" in a way difficult to capture on camera.
Decided to drop it off at the local bike shop, they seemed weirdly enthusiastic about the job.

For the price I paid it was alright, had some decent parts on it already and the wheels are running nicely.

I have a soft spot for old Marins, when this showed up around the corner for 20 EUR i couldn't resist.
Looks to have been living the last years outdoors and have quite roughed up paint, but no dings or other structural issues.

After taking it apart and a cleaning it was clear the seat post, bottom bracket and stem wedge are quite stuck. Oh the joy.

• Back to V-brakes after a little cantilever adventure.
  
• Shorter stem and Sim Works Getaround bars
  
• Still need a front rack. Can´t really decide between fitting a Wald basket on a more nimble cantipost mounted one or go for a beefier Pelago in small/medium.
