FWIW re:guard colour. I reckon black guards with the black tyres. Silver guards would work better with tan walls though if you ever go that route.

They’ve been great. I did have a rose on the front but it didn’t work with the guards.

They seem very tacky and have been completely trouble free set up tubeless. I get the impression that these ‘race’ versions could be a total pain with tubes as they are pretty thin.

Yeah, it’s very straightforward. Is yours 26inch? I had assumed the smaller sizes had a bit more clearance as I’ve seen people go with big tyres on them but perhaps not. I’m sort of the opposite and can’t see myself going bigger than 48mm for now.

Nitto M137SSB go up to 54cm? They are also nitto, and therefore lovely but somewhat pricey.

Pretty sure I’ve got a Mk1 and it does have a removable battery. Has lasted well until I left it in a damp shed over the winter.

I’ve done ~180km over the last three days on zwift, taking my total to 462km. Might bust out the slow bike and a flask of tea to savour the last bit.

A fairly joyless (am I doing it right?) 168km today after not riding yesterday. A grey old blustery day but not too cold. Quite atmospheric riding back into town in the dark just as Bella seemed to be getting going.

Up to 270km so far. Easy day/zwift for me tomorrow, I think.

Well done to all who got out. Was nice to have a bit of a reason to ride outside having spent the last 2 months on the trainer (I am soft). Did not feel like riding this morning but had prepped everything last night so did the old ‘I’ll just do 10k...’ trick and ended up with 100 in the bag. Cold wind in Kent today but otherwise lovely to be out.

I was reflecting only yesterday how, in the age of Spotify (etc), I find it really difficult to remember when stuff came out. Much easier when you were buying physical records.

Anyway, my top release of 2020 has been Dopelord - Sign of the Devil

They announced before last years though, so pre pandemic, but no reason they couldn’t have changed their mind in the last year.

That little patch of fabric did make it feel more special. Without it it feels like just another Strava challenge (this is probably just be my own shallow view...). Kind of fitting that the first year without a patch is the first year they allow zwift rides to count, though.

Absolutely, I’m definitely a fan. The hype comment was tongue in cheek really - he is really open about how much he hates the admin side of running a business and, if you can afford to, I’m sure it would be super tempting just to wrap it all up for a bit and have a break.

Price wise, agreed if you’re in the us. Getting one here is a bit more painful.

The run of Romanceurs and Evasions they just did sold out pretty quickly, so perhaps they’re feeling a bit flush and fancied a break over the festive season. They might be overpriced and unobtainable but it would be sad if they were gone for good.

I think they are the same, just idle curiosity. The bolt is probably the more sensible of the two options.
