Interesting...Looks like Volvo told a porky on their LifePaint TV advert by claiming the stuff worked well on bike frames as well as clothing.
Turns out it doesn't, and the advertising regulator has slapped them down and said they need to stop making that claim:"The ASA considered that the average consumer would expect LifePaint to be able to produce a similar effect to that seen in the ads. The video gave equal prominence to the frames of the bicycles as it did to the clothing of the riders, and showed the product being sprayed on a bike frame, so we considered consumers would expect the product to work on both surface types.
"Although we acknowledged that the video provided by Volvo showed that the product did initially produce a reflective effect when applied to metallic surfaces, we also understood that the effects shown on the bicycle frames in the ad were achieved with a different product.
"We therefore concluded that the ad exaggerated the performance of LifePaint and was misleading."

I think the time has come to do up my lovely 1990 Concorde Squadra. A frame more Italian than Mario Cippolini throwing a tantrum about subpar espresso in a Neopolitan cafe.
While Concorde are a Dutch marque, this is one of their frames contracted out to Italy to be made by Ciocc, a firm that continues to divide opinion about exactly how its name should be pronounced.
The frame is made out of Columbus tubing and has an Italian flag on the top tube to really hammer home where it was made.
I bought this as a complete bike in 2014 from a user of this parish. I love Concorde frames and having owned this for several years I can confidently say it's the nicest steel frame I've ridden. Treads the stiff/comfortable line well and is a delight to throw around.
The bike originally had a full Shimano Tricolore 600 8-speed groupset, but some components were showing its age and I felt it was time to upgrade to the Campagnolo an Italian steel frame deserves.
Of particular interest on this frame is the hanger for your race number (!), lovely chroming, nice fork shoulders with beautiful bird etching, campag dropouts and aforementioned Italian flag on the top tube.
The frame and forks weigh 2.75kg.
The plan is to do a tasteful neo retro conversion and end up with a sexy bike suitable for club runs and general trips out of the smoke and out into the lanes.
Sorry the pics aren't too sharp, I took them this weekend and they looked better on my phone.

Hi all - I hope someone can help.
I've got a new Bob Jackson Vigorelli I'm building up, but I'm having issues with the crank spider rubbing on the chainstay.
I've got goldtec hubs, Miche Primato Advanced cranks (JIS, not the older version) and Miche 107mm BB.
I ran this setup on an older frame with no issues. But on the Vigorelli I torque the crankbolts down and the spider rubs on the stays really badly.
To see if it helped, I got a 110mm Shimano BB to see what chainline that would give.... same problem.
I could adjust the Miche BB, but I suspect I would need to do this by 3-5mm, and that seems a bit iffy to me especially as they have a rep for unscrewing.
What the heck is the best course of action for me to get this frame up and running with a decent chainline and (hopefully) not dropping too much more moola on buying new parts? Has anyone else encountered this? Thanks in advance.
Ps - the frame does not seem bent.

To the fixed gear rider with the yellow bag with a yellow balloon attached it that tried to argue with me earlier on Oxford St over (as far as I can work out) not cycling aggressively or quickly enough, you're a liability.
As I pointed out, Oxford St at rush hour is not the place to smash it. Nor is it the kind of place to undertake buses, carve up pedestrians and then jump a red light, not that that stopped you, you tuber.
I have no idea who you are, but you look very 'on here', so you should know you cycle like a weapon and I still have no idea what your point was.

If the OP is a journalist and not just a troll, he/she would do well to remember point 10.2 of the editors' code of practice:

As well as point 5 of the NUJ code of conduct:

As well as the general requirement to refrain from being an end.

I have an unscientific theory that rain/the darker nights are linked to dozier driving than normal.
I was coming up Meadow Road in Oval today, just went through the blind corner/S-bend to see a grey Audi coming towards me on the wrong side of the road, with another car following it on the correct side of the road.
I had a car behind me and was pretty much boxed in, so I was sure a collision was imminent. For some reason I didn’t shout but I did do a ‘wake up’ movie-style whistle, really loud.
The Audi driver slammed the brakes on and stopped about a metre in front of me, bricking it and staring through the windscreen. He’d been looking down at his phone. There’s a school near there and kids cross that road all the time. I don’t know what possesses some people. -

The previous owner removed most of the decals.

Seat tube: 60cm from BB spindle to top
OLD: 126mm
BB threads: EnglishThe seatpost is 24mm and I will include it in the sale unless you don’t want it.
Comes with a stronglight A9 headset, new last year.
Saddle and potting bench not included.
Collection only from SW8. Any questions, PM me. Thanks. -
I believe the bit of kit you're after is called a pin spanner.

Have you thought about going out with Lea Valley CC? They're a sound club. I've never been a member but they seem like a good bunch. A lot of older riders but still a mixture.
Also, every time I've passed one of their club runs it has been tidy and disciplined, which to me says something about the club.

Me too. I think they know they've been a bit silly, and their instant reaction to that, combined with a bit of shock, is to get defensive.
