@Philbythesea IMO both is needed to be repainted so the colour scheme is up to the new owner. Lots of "original" possibilities out there...

Here is another frame I'm planning to restore for a while now but as there is no craftman around I could work with I let also this baby go.
It's a Colnago Super Thron frame from the middle of 90s, with one bigger (on top tube next to the cable hole) and some smaller rust spots. I started to remove the paint on it to see how the chrome looks like below but unfortunately it's needed to re-chrome (the fork for sure).
I include an original (got from Italy directly from Columbus) decal to ease your restoration project.

I bought this frame ages ago and wanted to restore it.. unfortunately I didn't find any workshop in Hungary who can make reasonable chroming so I never started to work on it. Now I decided I let it go exactly on the same price I bought. No dents or cracks, only surface-rust. Straight as an arrow!

This post is about the FRAME + FORK only, however I can give also the headset and bottom bracket on the photos if needed (all was unequipped and cleaned meantime).
