Moser Alu Gara road bike, with Campagnolo Veloce/Mirage 9 speed groupset. The bike's frame is Medium 55cm. Top tube is 55cm (centre to centre).
The bike was bought from the original owner and he advised he only did occasional rides and club runs on the bike. From what he told me, the bike hasn't had anything like serious usage and wasn't raced on. The condition for the bike speaks for this, as well as the fact that the frame still feels stiff to ride. For myself, the bike has been my best bike and has only been used for fast weekend training rides.
The bike is in pretty much excellent condition with just a couple of paint chips on the frame, and the bike remains very presentable. Parts show few signs of use, with only one of the brake calipers and the chainset having had their logos partly rubbed away. Mechanically, everything is sound with little wear, and I've recently serviced the bike and tuned everything up. Gears are shifting sweetly and brakes nicely responsive. So, everything as it should be for racing or fast commuting. With my upgrades, the bike's performance is a good deal nippier than how it was originally set up and total weight is now around 20lbs- so no more grinding up those hills! The stiff aluminium frame makes for compulsive sprinting out of saddle, and also has real comfort added to the mix which you only find on properly designed alu frames IMO.
The bike's frame and forks are made from 7005 T6 series aluminium for a good strength to weight ratio. Total bike weight is noticeably low and the frame still feels stiff and responsive when sprinting and racing on.
The bike is fitted with a full Campagnolo Veloce 9 speed groupset, except for the chainset which is Mirage.
Quite a few of the original parts have been upgraded- quality wheels have been fitted (a Mavic MA2 wheelset with Campag hubs), along with replacement Look pedals, SR Seta saddle, cables, and inner tubes. I'm happy to swap the pedals for normal ones as I'd prefer to keep these.
I'm happy for the bike to be collected (I'm in NW London) but will also post the bike at cost. Test rides welcome before buying.
