I did this with some walnut veneered mdf with a mitred joint. from a distance it looks great, but shit close up. Would probably do it with plasterboard and paint it if i redid it.

Thanks both - it's bonkers. I actually had a relatively good experience with the met when my handlebars/shifters were stripped and ended up on ebay. they claimed they actually brought the seller in for questioning but couldn't go further.

That'd be awesome - but let me confirm next week. Long-story-short, but i lost them in Milton Keynes station and the staff reckon they have it, but i didn't have long enough to wait for them to go and find it in lost property before my train, so i'm going back next week to collect (hopefully)!

long shot - but does anyone have a spare right pedal? i bought a pair of aceofix quick release ones and didn't put on the clips. the pedal fell off somewhere and i don't know where.

Plenty of life left, comes with a box if you want. Its the 'nature' version so plenty of recycled materials apparently.

Can anyone recommend an appliance repair service in north london? broken integrated microwave/oven which needs a new magnetron and it's a bit beyond me...

long shot - but has anyone replaced a magnetron on a miele combination oven? I got a cheap second hand oven a couple of years ago which has just given up - but i can't quite work out how to remove the magnetron to replace it...internet hasn't been that helpful so far

Been used as a pub bike for the last few years and lived outside - gears are effed but do sort of work but overall it's in a generally neglected state.

Lovely sparkly paint job though and could be cycled home, with a health warning...

i did this over the weekend - took a lot of filing of the hub but couldn't get the standard circlip on.

ended up filing the circlip too and that did the trick - although it's meant i took too much off the circlip so theres a bit of play in the casette.

needs to fix this - but so far the shifting works pretty well with a 3 speed sturmey archer shifter.

for ref - my frame (2009) takes an 18t
