Following your advices, now I'm looking for 53/54 frame size (seat tube, center-to-center) Champion Mondial A frame.

But, I think that gazelle frames sizes are measured center to top of the seat tube.

The idea, is to have a bicycle, vintage frame with modern components (basicly 9-10 rear speeds with ergo shifters) ready for rough road, commuting and light touring...

Also, I can consider buy a complete bike and modify later.

In my opinion, these bikes are the most flexible! They are an excellent and confortable commuter bikes (just changing the tires for city), for touring (if possible install racks), as a road bikes (changing the speed ratios and tires) and of course for cyclocross.
