so this is now in testing phase - had to install the original forks as the neck of my alpinas somehow rub against the inside of the headset cup.. (never thought this could happen, steerer seems straight). otherwise it is as brilliant as i remembered it.

about the alpina.. it is binding on the id of the lower cup. the od for the crown race is extended from the base, never seen this before (wasn’t an issue with an integrated headset)

just don't believe the text. they are usually light duty chinesium rebranded under 159 different names and failed miserably on a wheel bearing job (intended purpose, innit..). should be fine for canks, tho :)
