Hi guys
i used http://www.getprice.com.au/Elsted-Wheeled-Bike-Bag-Gpnc_355--37516986.htm as a travel bag to transport my bike between london and san francisco. Despite taking reasonable precautions the rear mech was bent on arrival, but fixable. On return I took extra special care protecting the rear mech and labelled the package fragile but on arrival at heathrow discovered the rear mech was irreversibly damaged. This is not a failure of the bag per se, but a commentary on the viciousness required to produce such damage: the impact was lateral to the frame and not perpendicular, indeed, the force required to produce such damage must have been huge: an appalling reflection on Virgin Atlantic baggage handlers.
Dont take any risks, get a box.
