Hi guys and gals

Hoping someone might be able to help me out. Looking for a fixie (my first!), and want to get it on Cycle to Work - my company uses Halfords.

First & second choices (Bianchi Pista Via Condotti & a Viva one) are no go's, as crappy Halfords don't have supply agreements with them. Not happy :-(

Basically the more retro the better, ideally no rear brake (though I can always remove this myself), max £1,000, and that supply Halfords.

I've already bought 2 bike in the past 2 years and managed to get neither through our Cycle to Work scheme so far (first one I hadn't been at company long enough, second was too expensive!). Annoying, as I actually plan to use this for what the scheme's intended for (rather than half the people who use it to buy a Boardman bike to use occasionally at the weekend!!)

So, any recommendations much appreciated.

Ah, to think, this time a year ago I was on the bike at sunny Ironman Bolton...

Buy full groupset - s/be cheaper. Ultegra would be my choice - unless you racing for podiums, not sure DA is worth it.

Wheels: HED Ardennes get v. good write up - tub feel, for clincher ease.

But PX do rule.

Er, maybe it's because I'm new, but I'm confused -there seems a lot of gears of some of these bikes for a fixed gear site?!
