Does it have to be 36 hole? I have a Campag hub but I think it's 32 hole. I will check my spares later.

New cable isn't going to help if you don't replace the ferrule, it will just pull through again. You definitely need a new ferrule - and make sure it's the right diameter for brake cable, not gear cable.

If you sit on the bike with the front brake on and push hard on the pedal while looking back at the drivetrain, does anything move? I'm wondering if the rear axle is broken.

I've got a pair of Continental gumwalls (I'll check the type later). Good tread but rubber cracked at the side due to age. Any good to you?

I'm looking for preferably two but one would be ok lock nut for a 9mm wheel axle. This is the knurled nut which goes between the bearing cone and the drop-out. If anyone has one/two or knows where to get them I would be grateful.

If the axle is hollow and Titanium it is the first series Super Record, one of which famously snapped and landed Laurent Fignon on the ground during the Blois-Chaville race in 1982. Personally, I wouldn't trust it in my bike. The second series was solid and the cranks were secured by a nut, not a bolt. That was considered fit for purpose I believe but by then confidence in the titanium BB had been lost.

What you have quoted for your frame is English BB threading so the Phil BB will fit. I don't know about the Dura Ace cranks though, they are likely to have a different taper fitting.

I've got two new Vittoria Rubino Slicks in the office (Fenchurch St). Let me know if you want them.
