Sorry GA2G, really didn't mean to cause offence, I don't have anything against having some good 'executive muscle', i'm cultivating a rather good layer myself!
As I said earlier, one of the SP guy's walking around the area was actually really nice and suggested coming back on Monday to speak to the manager (I get the impression he wasn't too impressed with the attitude of his colleagues) - so that's the next step!

Re: Above
What the Police instructed me to do was ask for confirmation that the incident was 'captured' on CCTV, and whether or not the perpetrator's face could be seen. I didn't need to see any of the footage, only ask the security firm to confirm whether or not it was worth the police following it up.
I can see, from the point of view of the Police, why that would be immensely useful, however it did place me in a bit of a catch 22 - the security firm wanted police involvement before accessing the CCTV, and the police would only get involved if the incident was confirmed 'captured' on CCTV!
My main frustration lies with the security firm on this one, two chubby chaps, sat on their arses, giving the big "We're sorry, we'd like to help, we just, er, can't.....". They did offer to "look over the CCTV" but when I suggested it might be useful that they took some of my details, just in case something did come up, they claimed that "that wouldn't really be necessary".
Hmmmm.... Vigilante Rampage anyone?!?

Cheers Clefty,
RE: locks - an ABUS d-lock £30, and fairly solid chain.
The police told me that other bikes were stolen last night. Apparently the guy's angle-grind the bikes free, load them into a van, and after a while these things end up across The Channel.
p.s. The security firm who ran the CCTV camera looking right at where the bike was stolen from were utter wankers (apart from one guys who was actually ok) and said that it wasn't their problem.

Will do, cheers for everyone's help, it's really appreciated. I know I don't really have a snowballs chance in hell of recovering my bike, but I have to try! I feel really down about having to get the bus tomorrow.....
