I have a simmilar story - I was working for now-defunct Carillion, we were doing a load of new build work on a north london military base. They couldn't / wouldn't provide any ug services drawings for security reasons, so every time the excavators / groundworkers hit a cable or pipe, we had to tell the base, they made everyone go away and their own Royal Engineers teams erect a massive shield around it to hide the action, fixed and / or reburied it but in secret location elsewhere.

A) The end of the scale, had someone in my car passenger seat for a longish journey, seat was set to my wife's preferred setting - small, and despite me telling him often to adjust to suit himself, he 6ftish kept it how it was and looked all hunched and uncomfortable for the whole 2 horu trip, i found that equally bizarre
B) unacceptable -

Hi filmy media folk. I’m after some advice for me to offer my son. He’s 19, and studying film and TV at Middlesex uni. He’s got camera operating skills, sound and editing.
Well I say studying, but what with CV19 and all he’s done nothing but online lectures, which I think has really made it hard for him. (I know it must be same for everyone) He’s a practical person, really hands on, really keen to get on and get his hands on something practical and real. When we speak I can tell he’s struggling but being stoic...I’m mainly advocating for staying on in there and hoping the course can properly get going soonish, but also realistically, his other options are to switch course or leave and get a job.
What would you do?
Also, any opportunities for any work or experiences that you know of? Cheers

I'm trying to sell my 2019 340i, not quite the same ias what you're looking at I know. But I like it very much. Bit gutted to have to get rid. I drive it quite spiritedly when I can, and still get really good avg mileage out of it- around 35 or more. Doesnt seem too spiteful running costs at all. Pops and bangs a bit in sport mode, but not at all lairy. My son calls it a sleeper. I think that means good.

Having just watched The Queen's Gambit, realised I hadnt played chess in quite some years. Used chess.com, and jeeezz, I so much the Hints, takeback options and all that. I cant believe how much my chess brain has obvioulsy shrunk. I stared at the board, went throogh every possible move the oppo could make...and nope, missed really obvious devastating moves loads.
Getting slightly better ( relying less on hints) but the AI keeps coming up with disturbing advice like "that was a blunder"....I'm doing my best okay

I have a GSP!- my dog coming up for ten years old now. As with most dogs & people partnerships, everyone's generally really biased positvely on their choice, but with as much objectivity as I can offer, I think as long as you can carefully manage the early stages of accepting and teaching that the existing livestock is off-limits as prey, you shoudl be good.
The beauty of my GSP is that she is extremely trainable, really very keen to please and food motivated, so with a bit of skill and patience on our part, can train to do pretty much anything within reason. Really sound with my kid when we got her (kid was about 8) , they're still best frieinds. He stared uni in october and she still looks around the house for him now and again.
As with all puppies, the early years with bundles and bundles of energy is where you need to be on your game to channel that into something positive. I used to take Madge for ten mile + bike rides, never really managed to tire her out.
I've had a few dogs over the years, cross breeds mainly, and I'd say that my GSP Madge was /is one the easiest to train . Mind you, she is still a pain at greeting people who come in the house, she's all over them with excitement, not aggression - never really managed to sort that out. But thats on me not the dog.
TLDR is Yes GSP great but also yes, they need plenty of exercise- like all / most dogs- we do mainly 4 mile walks daily off lead, with much longer bigger at weekends and all is fine.

I was out walking recently, heard a noise looked up (simultaneously) big old helicopter like this was right over us and low too, like these ones. My point being that this noisy beast had some kind of super-duper sound suppression so that we never heard it until it was right on us. Clever stuff, being able to get that much firepower on top of the baddies without giving them much time to hide / prepare
