Hi, I'm building a pub bike to replace my my 10 y/o Kona Paddy Wagon. Frame died :-( I will be using a Dolan FXE frame, but need to stick the old forks on it for lack of funds.
Question: Will the integrated ALPINA 36X45 HEADSET fit my standard forks? Obviously, after I remove the old crown race that is still in the photo.
Will any shims be needed?

WTF!?? Just logged in after a few months... I remember in 2008-9 this forum was all about:
Actually I'm looking for someone who would let me sleep at his home for some beers or a carton of cigarettes or something like that :-)
"it's all about the ride" and all that.... is bad jokes all that a friendly visiting cyclist gets these days? Couch surfers (http://www.couchsurfing.org/) would have been a lot friendlier... What happened to lfgss??

How gutted would I have been now - had I cancelled like I was about to (at 7pm on Saturday). Big respect to Andrew and David - you made the journey home a lot smoother and comfortable.
It was hard work, but it would have been much harder without julian, sam, tim, and john! Big thanks guys - great effort.

I was too fresh after having some Ti boltage put into my knee :-) "Fixed in Homeron FTW!" (and only have a crappy hardtail) - it looked like 500% fun!! All except for the cow-biker - he's serious.

... any tips? I'm on an alpine160
I went last year (as a bike-less photographer) with a bunch of mates from Prague. Here's the report in Czech and some pictures in english and a few more hehehe
My mates mostly said their freeride bikes (Kona Stinky, Transition 'something') were too much work on the flat/uphill bit in the middle. Here's the winning bike - hardly a downhill monster! I think 160 will be quite enough :-) Sharp rocks in the mid-top bit - my hiking boots died after a week of running around. Bring lots of money for fresh tyres - I seem to remeber the qualifying day being "worth" at least a pair of good quality rubbers and the same on the race day. Spares are easily available in the village, prices I don't remember - no amazing deals for sure, not a crazy rip-off either.
I'm missing this one - good luck! Post some pics!!

does anyone knows what colour that is?
That's bike-porn colour (not just colour)! What's that bike?? Yours?
EDIT: found it - http://www.pereiracycles.com/ UFTS fail.

... with its beautiful design it’s very contemporary.
Far preferable to the hunched and aggressive riding position of more sportybikes with the kind of hostile encounter with the rest of the world that this often implies.
Gazelle Chamonix Lite, the Rolls-Royce of bicycles... top of the range... the best bikes they make in Holland.
....if you are serious about cycling daily in style and comfort.
Just got off my sportbike, fixed my hunched position and here I come with my agressinve stance for some hostile encounters on the infamous (and arguably quite sporty) fixed-gear single speed forum....
...then and realized I was missing mudflaps. Dibs on mudflaps if you split and the price is right.
Thanks.
It won't be pretty. I know. Hope to get some straight carbon forks with road rake soon.
