I'm considering buying some Sidi Dominator's, but when I came to look at the usual places to buy (wiggle, etc), they no longer stock them or have limited sizes. I even looked on the Sidi website but there's no sign of them. Are Sidi Dominator now discontinued (or perhaps preparing for the release of version 8?)

I filled in the rapha survey whilst in the brewer st shop and they sent me a 25% discount code
SU6-1Y2D-C5P6-2NDC valid until 21st May 23.59BST can only be redeemed in one transaction and on full price items
Be aware it may not work. The reason I was in the Rapha shop is I was buying a rain gillet and they gave me 25% off in the shop off the gilet but they also sent me this 25% off code by email.

Dancingjames has asked me whether it's a one time use only. It says "one use per account holder" whatever that might mean
Here's the code if more than one person can use it
the first digit is either zero or capital O although I think its a capital O(my mouse is fecked so I had to type it rather than cut and paste from the email)OI8-FCM9-D6R3-RRDY
ends 5 april midnight

You could just go for mtb clipless rather than road. You can pick up a pair or specialized BG sport in good condition for about £30 on ebay - there always o there if your looking for a cheap decent entry level mtb shoe. Once you've worn down the lugs from walking around, just buy another pair - That's what i do anyway.

Made the mistake of buying the white one's... They do not stay white.
The other gloves I had were the pro team ones - which are very nice but stitching and stretchy back panel smell bad very quickly - also bought in white, also a big mistake.
Each to his own and all that
see above :P
If your going to buy leather gloves buy all leather without any other material as this is what starts to smell
I bought the white ones too. I knew exactly what would happen and they started getting noticable dirty after only one ride, but I like the look of white leather when it gets grubby (wonder if this is some sort of fetish?)
like you say each to their own

Things not to buy:
- gloves, smell bad quickly, impossible to wash well. V expensive
Would have to disagree with you on some of the points about gloves. I guess it depends on which gloves your talking about but my R+PS track gloves are the best summer (even though I'm still wearing them in november) full finger gloves i've ever bought. There really soft and hard wearing leather which fit really well, with all the reinforcement/padding in the right place
I've had mine for six weeks now and they don't smell at all. My experince with leather gloves is that they hardly smell at all even with some heavy sweating (probably due to leather's antibacterial properties) . It was the clarino palms on my Charge oven gloves that began to honk, not the leather backs
As far as being impossible to wash well, I discovered you can safely put leather gloves in the washing machine without any ill effects(I put the oven gloves in the wash as the clarino palms stunk so much) as long as you dont use any detergent and feed the leather daily for about five days after - I used granger leather glove balm
I agree with you that they're too expensive at full price and got mine in the clearance - gloves, smell bad quickly, impossible to wash well. V expensive

I bought one of these off fleabay for £33
http://www.resultclothing.com/product.php?prod=R120x
So far i'm really impressed. It's breathable, windproof and very warm. Haven't been out in the rain in it yet though (but i have a sailing gilet by the same co. and that's very water resistant, so i'm expecting good things). I really like the internal cuff thingys -completely keeps the wind out and my wrists warm

Was in decathalon today, they have Mens LS base layers for £24 in grey and black in the hiking section. Seem to have a wide range of sizes but not loads of each size. It didnt say what weight the merino was but comparing it to my kathmandu 150gsm vest and Embers 195gsm base layer (had both of em on at the time) the decathalon's looked much closer to 150 than 195

I bought one of these off fleabay (couple of quid cheaper than amazon) earlier in the year RESULT 'CREW' GILET BODYWARMER - 3 COLOURS (S-XXL): Amazon.co.uk: Shoes & Accessories
It actually does what it says on the tin - it's very water resistant and windproof- pretty impressed all round for 20 quid. Have recently been wearing it over various layers of merino, depending how cold it is

The M-18 is so massive no commercial lock holder is up to the job (including the two fish lock blocks as they are too small to g round the the shackle) the best and only thing you can do if you want to attach it to your bike is to make something yourself.
I used this thread to as inspiration to make my attachment rig.

DJ mentioned Embers Merino gilets. I can't find them - at least, not a Men's version.
Who else does gilets in merino?
They all sold out and they haven't restocked. I bought one n the sale but it was too small so i sent it back.
Icebreaker do one for £100 so do woolpower for £60

... one copper was on the telebox saying how 70% of un-insured cars is driven by a criminal, removing their cars reduces their mobility and in turn reduces the crime rate.. epic ..
Don't know why, but on a parallel note I find it weird that a very small percentage of the population does the vast majority of the crimes. You'd think it'd be spread out evenly or something.

I thank the Gods of cycling for making me replace my very worn brake blocks yesterday as a twat in a litte green car decided to do a three point turn on the Old Kent Road right in front of me today. I watched him watch me approach and could see him thinking "shall i do it?...Yeah, fuck it it's only a cyclist"

for what it's worth I've ridden with an m-18 in a belt holster made for a mini-fagh. was only noticeablely heavier for a minute or two then didn't feel it at all really. you have to wear it more on your hip than your arse than the mini fagh though.
I tried this with my M-18 and it definately works. You wont notice the weight after a short while. Unfortunately it made my back problems worse so I now attach my M-18 to my bike using a home made velcro strap and some cable ties

Warmth wise I'm fine with a pair of merino glove liners for most of the winter. But there not hugely durable ( I wore a hole between the thumb and forefinger of my last year ones) and merino isnt not wind or waterproof.
So I need a thin wind/waterproof outer glove. I'm thinking some sort of spring/autumn glove should do the trick. Something with a clarino palm should be durable enough to stop me wearing holes between fingers with a wind/waterproof back. Any suggestions
Ive bent my derailleur hanger and for the life of me I cant find a replacement. I have one of those derailleur
straightening tools but Im scared I'm going to break the hanger. If I do break it, can anyone make me a new one?
