I hate to go ad-hominem here, but I suspect I might have a decent amount of understanding of CV physiology and pharmacology comparative to yourself, or at least I'd fucking hope so.
Anyhow, you missed or misunderstood my main point, so I'll state it again.
It doesn't matter if those kids continued training. Someones physiological ability is related to a combination of genetics, training [and likely pharmaceuticals]. The timing of that training, if carried out to its full potential, seemingly does not matter, but as I've said- you can't prove it.
Just for some examples:

This bases itself on a possibly false, and sadly unprovable assumption- the theory that years trained as a child outweigh years trained as an adult.
Whilst there is obviously no good science, there is significant anecdotal evidence that this is a fallacy.
Add to this the amount he trains- have a look at his Strava, it is bonkers- and the guy is clearly dedicated.
No amount of money makes up for those hours in the saddle, and the fact that he can, and probably has self-funded this far is not something to discredit him by.I'm not going to dive into the doping question. I think the complexity of professional sport is too great, and frankly a suspension of disbelief makes the whole thing enjoyable to watch again. [Any sport]

I thought it was mainly for whoppers who work in investment banking that want to paint their face and pretend they are hippies for a weekend?
As someone who dislikes gigs, camping, crowds, drugs, over priced food stalls, face paint, being dirty, queues, traffic, and spending more than a couple of hours with anyone but my direct family, I recognise I am not the target audience.

@Howard for leader. You have consistently called QE a bomb under the UK economy.
Who was it on here a while ago arguing that inflation is a good thing?

Rarely- for someone in my sometimes overly arrogant field- I don't think that, but just hope that I might have a deeper understanding.
I am fairly obsessive about CVS Physiology, but that was the case before I qualified.
(or more simply- I assume nothing, and hope that I can translate that to being more open than I might be otherwise).
