Hi All,
Here are some bits and bobs that I have spare after upgrading during Lockdown. It turns out when you're not lamping £3.50 a day at coffee you have more money to spend on bike parts, so these are surplus to requirements. All prices are for collection in the West End, or I can post for £5 on top.
Brooks C13 Saddle (First run of 259 Limited Edition) -
£65- £60
I bought this in 2016, and whilst it's super comfortable on the road it was murder on the turbo. I've had one 'off' on it; I was trying to clip in in front of a mate that was new to cycling at the end of my road and scuffed the right side of it (and my dignity). You can see the slight fraying of the canvas in the photo.Campagnolo Daytona Seatpost 27.2mm - £60
Much as I refuse to accept it there's a possibility my frame is a touch too small for me, hence why this seatpost has very little wear above the minimum insertion point. This post will take the carbon rails of the Brooks above, and if it wasn't for the fact I was able to go super-bling with a Record Titanium post I'd still be using it.Campagnolo Chorus 8-Speed Ergo Levers -
£45- SOLD
I've put new hoods on these, so they don't have that slightly odd tacky feel that the older hoods do. I even put new rubber 'nubbins' on the rear of the brake lever so they don't clack against the shift paddle. The shifting action is nice and positive.Campagnolo Chorus 102mm Bottom Bracket -
£25- £20
This has probably done about 2000km, though the bearings are nice and smooth.New Campagnolo Athena 11 Speed Front Derailleur (Braze On) -
£35- £25
I ordered this from Condor as a backup to the used one below, but when I went to Potenza the FD's changed to be the new Super Record type with a longer arm.For some reason it didn't come with a mounting boltI've got a mounting bolt so it's complete.Campagnolo Athena 11 Speed Front Derailleur (Braze On) -
£25- £20
Probably done about 500km. I prefer this style of FD when compared to the newer ones as they're all silver and look sleeker, but the shifts down were just a little odd when using the Potenza shifters. On the Chorus shifters above they were spot on!Let me know if you want any better/higher res images.
Cheers!

I don’t need it as I’ve already done it, but that’s the freehub needed to convert the 8 speed Shamal’s over to take 9/10/11/12 speed. The freehub and ring are worth the money on their own!
If you don’t have a buyer in a couple of weeks let me know as I could probably do with a spare.
Good luck with the sale!

If you can find it the Athena 11 speed stuff is good, and the Veloce 10 Speed will maintain the classic look too. The decals on both will come off with enough soaking with some Boots Nail Varnish Remover; it took me about two hours of constant soaking/rubbing/soaking before my Veloce’s were free of the modern logos. I then stuck a retro logo on mine (see attached photo with my reflected face scribbled out).
The downside is that you’ll probably be messing around with Power Torque which is a pain to remove without the tool, but you can either grab the tool on eBay for about £60 when it comes up or pay your LBS to whip it off the rare time you’ll need it.
Oh, and you’ll need a 14mm Allen Key to put it on (or a 14mm bit for your torque wrench).

TL;Dr the lens and the sensor are superior (noticeably), however the full rundown is:
26MP X-Trans 4 BSI vs 24MP X-Trans III (the backlit sensor allows easier circuit design so the focusing/tracking is faster as well as the low light performance being better)
-5EV Phase Detect vs -2EV Contrast
Larger OVF: 95% vs 92% coverage
0.52x vs 0.5x Viewfinder
EVF 3.69m dots OLED vs 2.36m LCD
2 Asph vs 1 Asph element
4 stop ND vs 3 Stop
11fps vs 8fps
4K at 29.97fps (200mbps) 10 MINS ONLY vs HD at 59.94fps 14MINS ONLY
Eterna & Monochromatic Colour added
Clarity added
Colour Chrome Effect added
Colour Chrome Blue added
DR modes added to Movie
Bluetooth added
USB-C vs USB2.0
One port for Remote/Microphone rather than two
478g vs 469g
WR with filter attached (adapter ring plus 49mm)
ISO Dial change; now clicks and locks up for adjustment
Flippy Touch Screen
Aluminium top and bottom plates which are fit -
I use one of these: https://www.kmcchain.com/en/series/minichaintool
I just break the chain and replace it with a quick link as already suggested by owl. It’s pushed out pins on 11 speed chains without too much drama, and as an added bonus the Allen key that comes with it is 5mm so I can fix pretty much anything on the bike that can be done at the side of the road.

I’ve had exactly this problem with Veloflex tyres and Vredestein latex tubes. Mine were all blowing at about 90psi. It turned out the plastic cover on my track pump had taken a small knock and was causing friction on the needle. When I was trying to get to 110psi (23mm tyres on 19mm rims) the needle would struggle to move once it got to 70psi. What was actually happening was I was pumping well past what the tube was capable of and just detonating it.

I thought I’d chime in as I did exactly the same thing but in reverse (1995 8-Speed Shamal’s with my other wheels having Daytona hubs) whilst running an 8-Speed groupset.
I ran a Veloce 9-Speed cassette and just lost one of the cogs and used the 8-Speed spacers out of the original cassette that was on the Shamal’s. The difference in cog thickness was so minimal that the shifting worked perfect and was still silent. The final cog had slightly less spacing as the spacer is built onto the cog, but I just ran the limit screw with a slight bias towards the outside rather than perfectly in line and that worked perfectly.
I converted to 11-Speed last year as I wanted to get a greater range of ratios rather than having to choose between grinding up hills or ‘doing a Froome’ on anything greater than -1% and I’m so happy I did. The 1995 Shamal’s have been converted with an old Veloce 9-Speed freehub which fits the older 12mm axles perfectly (the hub was about £45 on the Bay) so I now have modern capability on what I reckon are the prettiest hubs Campag ever did.
As far as converting the older shifters to or from 8 and 9-Speed it can be done without too much swearing (I converted some 1999 9-Speed levers to 8-Speed to get a newer more ergonomic shape whilst still maintaining compatibility with the 8-Speed groupset). Campag do the full range of spare parts catalogues on their websites which shows the exploded diagrams and all the parts. Just make sure if you do decide to get a pair of shifters to cannibalise you don’t mix the internal types. Quick Shift used an escapement mechanism which isn’t compatible with the internals of the older types of levers.
