Was thinking about Second City Divide but it's quite long and a part of the country I've spent enough time in. I was thinking something like this, she probably won't need to transport 2 kids at once. But no one seems to be talking about them in here, hence my wondering if they're all actually shit.

My sister is looking to retire her Pashley which has been fine for cycling about leicester/toting kid number 1 around, but has also proved quite heavy, annoying on hills, etc. It got her into cycling and she loves it a lot but she thinks she needs something else.

Kid no2 is en route so she won't be riding for a while, but I'm already expected to be able to consult on what should replace the pashley. I've no idea. I suspect 6 grand front loaded e cargo will be quite a tough sell over the already extant 03 plate toyota yaris and I don't quite understand how they would store such a thing (I guess lean to in the front garden + ground anchor?)

Are more traditional style town bikes (with or without motor assist) "not worth it" or... I don't know. How do people work out what e-bike they should get? I feel like there's a bunch of questions that need to be answered but I don't even know what they are. Has anyone made a flow chart?

Anyway, now that we've done thru axle flat mount argument what's the weather like this weekend, anyone going out? Last weekend before the holy month of Ramadhan so I can't be bothered knowing I won't ride for another month afterwards but the verges by my house look pretty dry which normally mean the trails will be OK.

I reckon thru axles probably are a bit better. But I'd rather have the 500 quid. I don't take my wheel off outside of a workstand anyway.

Flat mount only causes crazy price hikes on steel frames or something like that and most frames in the future will be carbon or alu to offset the weight of batteries and motor etc so it's also unlikely to get bounced

crazy to think that if we'd just got together and resisted thru axles and flat mount we'd all be able to get 700 x 50 clearance frames with full carbon forks for 500 quid instead of 1400?
