Limited strictly to ACH and ACB members ONLY..
London (ACH) have been challenged by ACB Bristol to a fixie Meetup 1/2 way @ The Head of The River, Oxford (104km)
Be cool if ACH London can raise more fixies than ACB Bristol can, for the Meetup Challenge on Sat 12th July ;)So looks like a re-run of the Steamride LOL (no Uxbridge Rd or Southall unless you want to arrange a curry, before heading home :)
If you're collecting AUDAX points or want a souvenir Steamride Brevet, you can enter the Steamride LOL PERM and I'll reserve a brevet for you, for stamping along route (this time I get to join in the fun :)The route uses the A40 / Cycleway to/from Ealing Broadway where ACH aim leave @ 08:00 for Oxford 13:00

(I have now posted latest Route sheets / gps tracks now online) -
Hey Guys
I've posted gps tracks & route sheets online..for down load :
https://sites.google.com/site/steamride/home/lol200I've done the LOL ride a dozen times in as many weeks on fixie 42x16 = (72") & easier 42x18 (66") .. I can now climb Bledlow Ridge.. outta- the -saddle all the way.. I was a fixie "newbie" b4. Thanks to the LOL, I'm converted fixie fan :)
So much so, I'm organising the 24hr 400km+ route for a team ride to York on fixie :o)
The ride is surprisingly flat for a Chilterns ride.. mostly down hillzzzzz.. Have a G8 ride. -
Will the checkpoints will magically programmable into a garmin edge 810?
On this the1st event of the Steamride, tracks are available..online AUDAX, but due to addditional work haven't all been updated with POI / Controls yet.
Volunteers?... You'll just arrive at Contol or Town (free choice) of reciept is required... I suggest you keep routesheet to hand, so you know where you are.. or edit the gps before the ride.. rather than last minute -
The website says you will be going a total of 2182m upwards at various points. There is one very stiff climb on the 200k I think
There is a 1st long climb after Chinnor control, which due to flooding further on.. has a switch-back and additional climb :)
There is a 2nd shorter, but more challenging climb, if you opt to follow the route sheet and go via Burnham Beeches.. (only a 5min walk, lol ;-)
The alt. route is via A40 (joins 'after ' busy High Wycombe.. I have a cunning bypass, which takes you away from the traffic of the A40, see comments on YACF -
Gps tracks are now updated on the AUDAX website, to include flood detours & bridge closures.. a couple of options to choose from depending on weather and progress ;)

There are now PERManent rides for the LOL 200 and 100km To Oxford, which can be ridden at a date to suit.
The original Calander event LOL 200 was 204km with 2 infos..
The PERM has an extra control at Ealing Broadway stn & no Info questions. The route sheets either describes the Ealing - Ruislip route as an optional trip for the Calender rides.
The Ealing start, also addresses the point raised of Ruislip being London, as well as it's where I always started the original ride, before it became an AUDAX. -
Need to keep shop/atm reciepts or a stamp in your Brevet card from each control.
The brevet (with stamps/reciepts) is then handed in after the ride is complet @ Ruislip, I the send them off for external validation, and they are posted back to you.. make nice souvenier :) Also,at that stage you can qualify for awards.. badges, medals etc. and have the points count towards a bigger challenge... -
