Ok, I confess it's been 1.5 yrs since I jumped on the bike in anger and about 8 mths since I frequented the forum. Walked the wonderdog last night. Wheezing and panting all the way up the hill and back. Dog wasn't happy either.
Tyres pumped up. Strava downloaded. Bag packed for work. Time to sort my shit out. -
I just started riding again and it's cold when I commute. So I'm gonna invest in some kit. This thread is full of great ideas. Thanks guys. But is there an accepted temperature where I shouldn't ride. I'm obviously not riding when the snow comes as we usually get a couple of feet but what about ice and hard frosts?

Hi. I'm situated up north. In Durham to be a bit more exact. I've noticed the odd fixie about but it's a rare breed up here. I rode a singlespeed for a while but a new motorbike and job sidelined that until recently. I've broke out my singkespeed to ride to work. In the hopes I'll be able to see my feet eventually. I'm only riding 8 miles, occasionally walking the bike up hills, but loving it. So I thought I'd reach out to fellow northern riders.

Quick question. While my own furry psychopath is a joy to behold and has trained me wonderfully. My stepdaughter recently took on a friends cat who initially was fine but has recently started attacking her when she's in bed scratch her feet and occasionally drawing blood. It started playful but has escalated to this. Does anyone have suggestions on how to stop this behaviour? The cat is less that a year old, male and intact at this point although the snip is on the cards.

Dude that's an awful smash. Heal up. Also in case it ever affects anyone else. If you are captured on cctv you can put in a freedom of info request and unless the footage is being used in an active police case they have to release images of you within a certain timeframe. A mate of mine tried this route when someone tries to garb his daughter but got knocked back due to criminal investigation.

Thanks for the advice about setup but I should clarify I'm revisiting my yoof and rode an sv as my first big bike. Done a few others since then but a job change meant I needed wheels again and the insurance on a bike is pennies. I've always found the sv to be very forgiving, the forks are grand and will do me for now. And nothing beats the burble of a v twin. Already planning next summers bike tour with my boy, who at 14 is planning on a bike himself at 17.

Finally changed jobs and I'm lost my company car. Seems like perfect justification for another bike. Ive been looking for a decent but cheap 600. Thought I'd found it last night in a late 90s bandit 600. Unfortunately the text background check flagged 15 previous owners which I could live with... And a plate swap suggesting either a vanity plate or a mangled frame. Glad I didn't knee jerk impulse buy. So off to more dealers today. Truly loving being 39 though as insurance is next to nothing.

I'm in a quandary. I cannot decide between halo 5 and fallout 4. I just want a game to tide me till the new job on the 16th. I didn't like fallout 3 particularly as its combat system threw me off. And the last halo was dull. However both have us good reviews and there isn't much else out. Any ideas on a good Xbox game?

OK update on the elusive moggy, if you read a few comments up... stupid cat escaped out. Muggins searched the house top to bottom, shook his biscuits in the garden.. the lot. He was outside overnight with fireworks and crappy cold weather. Imagine my surprise when he jumped on the bed around 2 am. I have no idea were he was hiding in the house but its a good spot. Little sod
I'm a firm believer that cats should be allowed outside if they want, it's just the way I was brought up around them and living in the country means there are less risks for him when he's out. In winter it was a case of he was sat on the step waiting to be in at 7 when I let the dog out before work. It's summer now, I get the song of his people at 5am until I let the little shit in. At which point he walks upstairs harasses the dog then scratches at the door to be out. My neighbours have commented on how cute he is. If only they knew he's an asshole.
