This might be a really daft idea, but has anyone thought of speaking to RedBull and / or GoPro about this? I know a lot of people are against commercializing their beloved hobbies, but these companies love to stick their logo on anything that can be labeled as extreme sport and they are good at promoting and sponsoring these activities. I think HCBP is in the position where it could grab their attention; point them in the direction of vimeo and youtube channels, invite them to Krakow and you may just get a healthy backing for selling your souls. Not sure what their demands would be in terms of events being ran regularly, training sessions etc, but it doesn't hurt to ask, right? After all court barriers are surfaces perfectly suitable for advertising purposes and the companies involved would get their logos in every video on said channels.
Sorry if this has been thrown in and discussed already, i cba to utfs. :P -
I broke an elbow under similar circumstances; ped stepped down in front of me and knocked me down. The only difference was that I was sprinting for the green light 100m ahead and the guy stepped down so closely in front of me that he bumped into me before he managed to step two. Serves me right for sticking to the left side of the road..
I cycle a lot in West London and lived in Acton for 2 years now and have to agree with hippy; people step down without looking all over the place. Or worse even, stepping down and walking at you while looking you between the eye. The only difference is that you have more room (and often less traffic) to navigate then in say Oxford street.. -
Hey. Check the west London thread for info. A guy called Henry organises games at Westway every Wednesday.

Hey guys, is there any west london activity at all? I've seen that the sport centre is not booked any more and london fields is a bit too far for me. Been wanting to check this out for some time, what is the place these days?
(ps. I know most people will be away and busy this weekend due to cambridge)
Bump. Any newb polo around?

Managed to sign up, yay.
Many thanks to John for organising the ride. Even though I cycle around a lot in West London there were a few hidden spots and places of interest that I didn't know about until now.
Having been my first time riding without my gears and freewheel I have to say I am already hooked and keep looking around for a frame to build a fixie (likelyhood is I will actually wait until the snow season is over but expect a million questions after that).
So despite the loose crank I had fun and it was great meeting you all, expect to see me on future rides.
Martin - ish
