Not really what I'm after...many of the bikes that Mission are doing 'looks' wise are what I'm after, straight or bull bars, single speed styling but with 8 speed hub although I might go single speed if I can be convinced it's all a man needs to ride a bike.
I see from on the forum pictures many people build their own commuter single speeds but I don't have the time or components hence looking for a nice shop, builder who's producing clean, simple bikes.

I'm looking for a new bike, I'd like something that is fairly light, well made, 8 speed hub and looks nice. I came across https://www.missionbicycle.com/ via Instagram and really like the look of some of their models, but with them being based in the US the $200 delivery is a bit much. Also I always like to buy British if I can.
Based on this can anyone recommend a company or builder for me to look at?

I'm looking for a bike similar to a Cannondale Bad Boy, just for whizzing 3 miles to works, popping into town and very mild off road stuff (Sunday family bike rides etc)
I don't want to spend more than £200 and am happy to purchase something that needs fixing up etc.
So if you've got a lightweight rigid mtb, urban, hybrid etc that you think would suit, please let me know.
As for size I'm 5'9" and prefer my frames on the small side!

I'm currently working on my first project http://www.lfgss.com/thread93157.html and need to get some parts, ideally for little money!
Big requirement is 27" wheels running single speed (freewheel) I've been recommend to get some 40h Airlites?
Also need suitable vintage looking Chainset/Crank and a BB bracket.
Also after seat post, stem and bull bars!
If you think you've got anything suitable let me know!

I'll order one of those tools and try...got to be less painful...if it doesn't work I'll take it to a bike shop.
Other thing that's crept up...I thought the bike was dark green after the very quick clean it had earlier it's actually black! No I don't want a black bike so does anyone have suggestions on what colours might suit a vintage rebuild?
I got a quote back from Bob Jackson to paint the frame...
Single Color Enamel £90.00
Colored head tube £19.00
Multipanel Seat tube £35.00
Lugs Lined £25.00
Transfers and fitting £60.00 This price is a guess and includes the World Champ bands on Seat Tube Panels, Period 531's, Custom trans ( Which Will be vinyl ) and Viking TransSo approx £229.00 plus return P/P if required.
Not sure I can go that high for this build so might look at getting the local place to sand/respray I'll do the decals and highlight the lugs then get them to apply the clear coats...think that will be about £120 inc the decals...[FONT=Arial][SIZE=2]

I'm keen to get back in the saddle and instead of burning money on a new bike would prefer to buy secondhand, ideally a good frame/fork combo then upgrade the rest as and when.
I'm really keen to get a single speed and loving the look of the Leader Kagero frame, think I've fallen in love from following Tim Kau on Instagram (http://instagram.com/tim.kau)
So does anyone have anything similar? Barebones that I could get going with?
Budget is up to £500 and I'm based in Berkshire but happy to travel for the right bike.
Thanks
James
