Would anyone be interested in doing a big fixed gear group ride of the coast to coast in the summer?

I want to do some sort of camping trip on my bike and thought that this might be cool. its like 150 miles but you can do it over 4 days and its about 40 miles a day and i think that's not too much. some of the hills would be a bugger but I want to have something to train towards.

Rode to teesside park on monday and then ive just been to stockton today. It's pretty sweet. Getting the hang of trackstands today which has made crossing roads or junctions or whatever much easier than having to put a foot down.
Can't skid yet though :/

Here's my fixed gear with its new set of wheels. Loving riding fixed so far.
Need to sort out my brakes and need a longer seat pole/new seat.

Got back from uni and set up my bike with its fixed whhels! had a little ride around but im planning on going tomorrow for a lengthy ride.

I get back to teesside on the 9th of Dec and the first thing Im going to do will be to build up my bike. Then I'll be up for a ride out definitly.

But I was wondering what gear ratios people at running? How do you find it?
Got a 49t chainring which i'm keeping for the time being and I was thinking of a 16t fixed cog.
Well excited for it, but I won't get to ride it till I'm back from uni at the start of December.

Yeah I thought i'd go for a retro bike company badge sort of feel for it. though it could look good on stickers, spoke cards, posters etc.

Thanks. Think if i do go ahead and convert it then i'll just buy a new wheel set. Im not bothered about respraying. I like the colour of it as it is now and I just wanna keep the retro feel it has with its weathered raliegh racing livery ha. New wheels and then ditch the brakes and maybe put on the brake lever off my old bmx onto it for the front brake.

How did you guys convert your bikes? dont whether to use the same wheels or buy a new 700c wheel set :-/ seen a ce deep v set on ebay thats a flip flop hub and i want that so i have the choice of a freewheel.
