The NT is one of my all-time favourite buildings. The way the concrete takes on the grain of the wood it was cast in is incredibly beautiful.
Today I was drinking in a pub in [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lillington_Gardens"]Lillington Gardens[/ame]: it's inconceivable that something as incredible as that could be built now, least of all as council flats.
I've also become a big fan of Rural Design's work, though I tend to become depressed whenever I look at their website since so little new housing is anything like it at all.

I just got a homebrew kit for my birthday (fermentation bucket, keg, brewing kit). I don't think I've ever been so excited, I can feel a whole new world of forums, bodging and geekery coming on. Just been looking some stuff up and it's like a different language. I'm gonna do the kit first, then I reckon it's in with both feet for the full grain brew. How long till I end up with a setup like this?

That's two mango-chutney barrels with kettle filaments hacked into them, and a cooler box. You could knock that together for less than £40. I'm building a set-up like that for friends right now.

Hi, I've recently had a set of wheels stolen. I'm getting a new set built by Big Al, but he can take a while, so does anyone have anything to sell to tide me through? Doesn't need to be great stuff as I'll only be using them for a month or so, but needs to be a) cheap and b) able to take a freewheel sprocket.
Cheers
Colin
