I spoke to the police this morning and they said they guys usually flog the bikes as is. I've not had a lot of experience with this...
However, if I was a professional bike thief I would mix it up a bit to disguise it's moody origin. But I'd also hedge a bet that I'm smarter than the average PBT, which is exactly why I'm not a PBT..

Hypothetical question. If one is a professional bike thief selling bike on Gumtree, and as a PBT have access to a range of components, would you change a component on an otherwise stock off the peg bike prior to photographing and posting it for sale? Or is it just someone else's stolen bike that this guy is selling?

All stock except newiish half-link chain (as opposed to standard link) and 2 week old specialized armadillo rear tyre (as opposed to stock Kenda on the front). Did have a Movember moustache sticker on the head tube.

Would be great to get her back (ambitious).
