other option suggested by hippy is good too, just doing day stages, b and b stays, means you can go out and sample several of the local brews, and work them off the next day on a nice likkle fifty miler.

What exactly do you mean when you say "serious transport", surely biking as a whole is there already. but while it shares an infrustructure with our other transport modes it always going to play second (or 15th) fiddle, isnt it?
