I have Gator Skins. They were a real pain to get on the first time. They are shipped folded and need to stretch out a little. Squeeze them over the rim using the palm of your hand. Don't use levers, just wasting your time. The lever takes up space between the tyre and rim and just makes it more difficult.

I jumped a red light at Bank station, by the time I got to the other side I realised that a couple of city police were crossing on the green man. There was an embarrasing moment where I had to weave gently around them. They glared, but didn't say a word.

Has anyone out there been stopped by Police for running a red light? How does this actually happen in practice? If you decide not to stop, how can they actually catch you in anything remotely resembling London traffic? Curious because the longer I cycle in London and get to know the sequences the more I seem to blaze through the lights.

Hey, I got my bike done by Armourtex in a matt finish called 'grey/brown'. It looks the business. A really deep chocolate brown that has some charcoal black also mixed into it, and the finish comes out with an eggshell sheen. Everyone comments on it. Would recommend it for those thinking of going matt black.

A guy at work says you can just show up with a bike (ie no box at all) and they stick it in the hold no problem. In fact they may be more inclined to handle it carefully.
