London Velodrome Sat 15th March (evening session): Revolution series finale.
Gutted that I cannot make it, but need to support a friend (funeral). 4 (although available singly) tickets going at cost price to Sat evening flagship session.
Trott (Omnium), Clancy (Madison TT) and Kenny vs (World Champ) Pervis in the sprint....
Each ticket was £35 + the damn booking fee of £3.50, but I'll make a £2 contribution to LFGSS for each sold. I just want them to go to a good home!
I'll send them out first class recorded delivery upon receipt of funds through paypal.

Yes, ta muchly, Velocio. Just stocked up. Agree that they are excellent off the bike. They are also the one bike-type product that my wife and kids will consume without a groan: I even managed to get my wife, who was in labour (and is is fair to say not open to new suggestions), to consume some. Kids prefer to diaoralyte too. Recommended.

Great. It probably uses some of that route, so maybe you can educate me!
How about Thurs early eve? Meet 5-30 at Carfax? I work nr 24 hour Tescos by Mini Factory, if that's better for you. I want to get back by 7 to see my son off (Im so boring).
Good luck with TC. I did the Dun Run fixed a while back (when it pissed with rain all night). Surreal following those red flashing lights. 2 requiremts - 1) a pint before you set out and 2) you have to swim in the sea! ;)

I moved here around 18m ago. I havent explored North as much as I should. I know S in Chilterns nr Watlington too, but would be happy to show you a roughly 60-90 min adaptable loop SW via Cumnor, good for evening rides, training or a quick Sunday pootle. I have a young baby so time is limited. Let me know if you want to meet up next week post work for instance.

Thanks ChainBreaker and others - I'm off tmw so went with something he (probably) cannot get in SA, a "Kano" Boxfresh Tshirt (I doubt he has eve heard of grime, but you never know). I think what I was really after was something a 20 year-old here would love and preferably that cannot be bought in SA.
-
Thanks for the suggestions. The book or London based tshirt was the type of thing I was after - braai's, bigotry, rugby and WC tix are all well-known or more easily available in SA itself (especailly the latter - there is public ballot)! Might be boring and go for a Boxfresh Tshirt, The Rider ( - even my wife likes it!) or one of those beer cans where you unscrew the top and stash "things" in there.
-
I would go with option 2 - quieter but hillier (the Chilterns)! Do that a few times a week and you'll have calves like rocks! Another option would be to take the slow train and get off halfway. I hope you have some serious lights and reflective stuff - when I still lived in London, I did Oxford to Didcot after work many times - can get pretty hairy in the dark - potholes and fast drivers. Stay safe

There isnt much in terms of bling fixie Window shopping to be honest, but Walton St bikes are into refurbs and The Oxford Cycle Workshop (OCW) are definitely into that and may well have recycled frames of interest. A few OTP fixies have appeared in the last few months at Beeline and Bikezone (right in the centre). The latter is probably your best bet for some window shopping, they have a few nice parts. A new place has opened up recently, Cycle Center, right next to Walton St bikes and I saw a Kona Paddy Wagon through their window as I pushed my sleeping bairn around at some ungodly hour of the moring (i.e. when I should be out riding). The colour-scheme is "individual." Enjoy!

battered old Giant peleton lite road frame rescued from a Grundon in Homerton (now called North Viccy Park probably) back when I preferred/could only afford "edgy", bent to 120mm and fixed up with (formely) white Formula hubs. Alternatively, a black Canondale Bad Boy (Im sorry!) frame featuring OCLV red carbon fork, 27" wheels and an ENO hub - nice high BB. Principal route: OX2 to OX4 business park via Cowley Road or preferably Ring Road cycle path - often seen on Cumnor hill doing reps. I genreally nod or wave at fixies

I love tracking down a rider ahead, but then sauntering up next to them for a chat rather than burning off head down.
I love the anticipation just before the moment when you "punch it" when sprinting between signs.
I love cresting a hill a full whack.
I love doing those litle swerves to avoid a pothole at high rpm when you just wiggle your hips
I love

Before this gets into a slanging match - lets back up the rider!
Fankie J - I dont know if you have any riding insurance : I got some from British Cycling (also available from CTC) when I got a Race License. Anway, it included free legal help and it didnt cost me a penny when a frim called Leigh Day (in Shoreditch - recommended) pursued a motorcycle courirer who snashed me for 6 and then gave false details. I wont go on, but its worth just thinking about any insurance you might have - even travel insruance can cover you if you dont live in London (a bit unlikely, but you get my drift I hope).
Recommend you get your police statement in within 24 hours and go to GP first thing tmw too. Ask for a copy of a report. Go to your LBS and get your bike assessed ASAP and have photos etc taken and estimates for parts replacement written and date signed too. The more evidence you can get as near to the time as possible, the better. Id also go back and take photos of the location.
Good luck. PM me if you want any more info. D

I just spat out my drink! (classic, even with the typo ;)
Poor typo I admit - the dangers of using a phone to access the forum. After my speech at my wedding, there was a pause whilst one of the ushers dug out some flowers for the bridesmaids - I still had the mic and someone yelled out to tell a joke. The only one I could remember was the Jeremy Beedle one. I just managed to hold it back....
Sorry Telescope1608, I had to go with first-come-first-served as time is tight. They will be streaming it live on YouTube - I think the event organisers are called the Face Partnership, but details are on the Rev. website.
Adam, thanks for the payment.
