you can run a 1/8th on a 3/32 chain-ring/cog. I've done a hundred miles odd using a 1/8th on 3/32, seems fine. iirc you can't use 3/32 chain on 1/8 chain-ring/cog.

good luck with that, I doubt you would get any reynolds frames pre-war, more 1950's-60's

Just wondering how much a difference changing the front wheel from 700c to 650c will change the riding style/geometry and advice from someone who's done it. theoretically it will lower the BB by 1inch, how much difference would that make? (the bike won't be fixed so the fixed pedal strike issue shouldn't arise)

no point filing the hub axle. I had the same problem, I only had to file off 1mm or so on the fork ends, it may take several minutes.

The Raleigh looks okay, the one I'm riding was a touring bike so it has a massive wheelbase, if you stick a saddle on there and with a few inches of seatpost it will look better. Cranks will also fill in the white space between the wheels.
