Hi Arup,
How do you feel about taking on another pupil on May 8? I got flattened by a Ford Focus on Sunday and only my saddle and my Phil Wood hubs survived! Oh - and me. Is it too ambitious to attempt to build up with say 2 Mavic Open Pros (what is it, 36 hole...?), when you're a newbie (and a bit cack-handed)? Well, if you think it might work, I'm in! -
The XA seems to have quite a following.
Is the original one any better then the later models?I think the difference is the XA has a (quite faint) rangefinder and the XA2 has a stepped focus. I've not noticed much difference in pic quality. And because both are kind of...mechanical...they don't have electronic failures. Good toys. Buy!

Unknown steel frame for sale. Columbus Zeta tubing with chromed forks and Tange headset. The size is 57cm top tube C-C and 57cm seat tube C-T. Unfortunately the seatpost is seized and may need a vice (and a glug of Plus Gas) to shift it, unless it measures up - 73cm centre of B/B to saddle rail mounts. This was bought a couple of years ago as new old stock (70s 80s I guess). It was probably waiting to be badged but the silver metallic tubing only has the Columbus decal.
It's been well ridden, so expect a good sprinkling of surface corrosion. Structurally it's absolutely fine and hasn't taken any knocks. It's ideal for a winter hack. I rode it as fixed but it has braze-ons for downtube shifters (and a gear hanger). 120mm rear spacing. Collection from near Clapham Common station.
