Anyone every used one or got there bike back because of it?
I am involved with this product and have visited all of the police forces in the UK and to date 15 are using it as part of their cycle crime reduction initiative in over 35 different locations. There are over 3000 scanners with the UKs police forces and they are using them proactively. One realy good statistic that has come out of these initiatives is that tagged cycles are 10 times less likely to be stolen.
The tag has been around for over 10 years and has started to take off in the last 18 months. The difference is the immobilise.com database which is now searchable by the police through their own computer so any bike stolen from one police area yet found in another can now be identified. I still visit the police and encourage them to get the public to register any property on the database. So far 19 million people have registered over 26 million items of property. Visit the site, register your bike and come back to me with your comments please.
