I have a Bafang and a madjax box and lug around 2 kids (12,6). It gets abused and used up and down south London inclines, flat roads.
The head unit and some other part crapped out on me after a year, I’ve gone back to the place I got it installed they did something (new head unit) it works.
I know dubkev has a similar set up but has had some problems.

If you’ve got skills and time it’s no bother to install yourself. If you also have skills and time it’s probably easy to meddle with and keep on top of it.

Could probably do with trying to get new sides, a new floor, and a bench seat that runs the length of the flat bed for the bike. Rather than sitting the kids side by side.
