There's really four fixed gear forums:
San Francisco, New York, Chicago and LA.I'd say in that order too.
I hope London will very soon be the fifth. Just because it will give us all even more socialising, blasting around, and having a great time.
There are other forums, but it's about vibe, influence, mayhem. Large cities with a unique style really do the fixed gear thing in their own way. I have a feeling we're all a bit more reserved about the wild fashion, and are likely just to get drunk and ride ;)
Strangely, I happen to host the Chicago forum. These forums aren't entirely free things, but thankfully I happen to have chunks of server hardware laying around with enough spare capacity to run these things without noticing.
As for which is best? I loved the Chicago one, but London is where I am and my home, and the thing that makes these way better than bikeforums, or whatever... is simply that the stuff in them is local.
They're all linked to from the links page, or from this:
http://www.fixedgearforums.com/I run that too.

What about all these V-compatible brakes... not going to work with nice Campag road callipers are they?
So I'll probably end up with a Paul lever, they're about as simple as they get and at least theirs state that they're calliper compatible.
And where's the compatibility anyway? The amount of leverage and force applied? Likelihood of endo'ing when using V-brake levers? Stuff like that?

damnham:if your coming in through earls court we can meet up there then head down together, if not we'll see you at 9:30 outside the HH gates
I'll do that. What's the address? Or just Earls Court Station... the entrance with the Tardis?
Oh, and what time... how long do you reckon from Earls Court to Herne Hill? And I shall be cycling much much slower. I've switched to fix and am determined not to forget and send myself flying again (sick of doing that).

You know what I'd like... magentic allen key chunks.
As in... you drop them into allen nuts and bolts, and they stick their using magnetism.
They'd seal up the nut or bolt, making carrying just an allen key useless.
To remove the thing, you just need a stronger magnet.
I just think that aside from making things lovely and smooth, it also makes it immune from opportunist theives.
Of course, the other option is superglue and a ball-bearing.
