The overwhelming consensus is that the dynamo is fine as it is.
And I have to agree as I have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. I wouldn't like it to evolve because it would cease being what it actually is, and why it is loved. But as it grows the number of inconsiderate twats also grows and the local nimbies get louder I hope this does not cause a problem for the silent majority that have and cause no problems, both participants and residents.
It'll all be fine until these nimbies get organised, remember that the east west superhighway almost never got built because a handleful of very well connected and organised individuals hated the idea. I know it's a different kettle of fish but i feel it best to nip the issue at the bud. -

I completely agree putting organisation would ruin it. But the priority should be it's survival, It's such a legendary ride.
If a bit of light touch voluntary management of a few key issues early on will make it safer and more enjoyable I'm all for it. People are now getting seriously injured by twats ramming cars into them and push mountain bikes into their paths.
The numbers grow every year, let's make it sustainable. -

As the dynamo is growing. I think that the reality is that it needs to get slight organised. There is mass chaos on departure with impatient drivers acting like dickhead, also I'm sure head toward south Essex there are loads of drunk drivers and the mess and needless noise on stopping points is getting silly now.
I hope that a Marshall could be arranged at each point to remind people to turn stereos off in villages and also discourage littering and also picking up litter that is left.
A police escort until the m25 would be ideals too. With staggered start times for riders.
This could all be finance by small surcharge on coach and train tickets.
The unorganized nature is it's charm but I'd hate to see it get a bad reputation and annoy people at large.
So many locals come out and cheer us all on. I was even offered the use of a toilet in someones home. But these people are drowned out by those that feel it hinders there sleep one day a year. -

If he's gonna use a bike for a get away vehicle then he has assessed the risk of actions like this from the owners, vigilaties or the authorities, and decided it's worth it for his criminal activities.
I know criminal aren't the sharpest tool in box. But he had the opportunity to reduce chance of injury by being on foot if that was his concern. He decided not to. Instead prefer a quicker getway.
Fair game. It was his decision. There is no safe way to force someone to dismount. -
I've got 953 frame aswell. The tubeset appears to be holding the leader position for a long time now in terms of strongest and lightest steel. Think for 15 years now?
When do you think a product from either columbus or reynolds will supersede it? Or even a product from the east.
On side note I've heard the columbus spirit is lighter them 953? Is this true... but it's not stainless so..... mehh
