No worries, it's definitely a different vibe for the bike. I think it is best with mechanical. External cables are a delight after years of feeding cables through carbon frames full of manufacturing debris !

Re Di2, I'm sure you could.

You could run the cables externally (not very pleasing on the eye ;)), or, since it is steel, get the drill out.

I'm sure a steel shop or builder would do it very quickly and cleanly.
