Also changes a lot atleast for me. During the first night of pbp I had to take a nap, or I had fallen asleep while riding. But then I only slept for about two or three hours during the whole pbp. Some days just can't fight it and then a week ago, at the fleche and the ride back home, I was awake for about 45 hours straight, mostly riding, no problems. Keeping that up for the next day would have been interesting.

@hippy Probably.
I think Allegaert trains to stay awake and doen't sleep much.

Yep.
Quite eventful already with just a couple days in. Crash, thrown bottle, one had the bike stolen, Markku from Finland had he's tyre (tubeless, I think) torn or something and had to buy a new one from some bike shop in Eugene.

Yeah but I meant the discussion @frank9755 mentioned about crossing the border at some of the border crossings that aren't normally allowed for anybody but locals, where youd need to arrange a special visa for that. Although you would not need any visa to enter the country on the usual crossings. Dunno, but here's the discussions about that.
And I don't even need a visa for Turkey, as I'm from Finland.
-
Kind of mixed information when googling for Bosnia to Montenegro border crossings, wikipedia lists three, found some old news about opening new crossings and still here's only two mentioned.
Kosovo doesn't seem to require visas. Although it of course depends on where you're from. And if you can use the locals border crossings with some kind of special visa, but that would maybe be in the gray area of the rules, as you'd have to arrange that in andvance. -

Good point those rims and nipples that you can change the spoke with the tyre in place.
About the tyre mounting, I meant also in addition to normal tubeless installing problems that some tubeless tyres and rims can be really difficult combination to stretch the tire onto the rim.
The spokes I've broken have often broken at the base of the threads so that a small pice of the spoke is left in the nipple, the threaded part. That makes the nipple unusable as it's pretty much impossible to get the piece out by the side of a road. And to take the nipple out, you'll have to take the rim tape off and might not be able to use the same tape again. I usually use a Herrmanns rim band that doesn't have glue on it, it's reusable.
-
I suppose the possible problems with tubeless touring would be tyre mounting and spoke replacement. The tyres and rims can be hard to mount, compared to normal clinchers, at least some of them, so might not be that nice to get the tube in while in a cold rain. And replacing a spoke would mean the rim tape would have to be removed and you'd need to have a spare with you.

Looks a lot like the Shutter precisions, doesn't it? And the description sounds like it too. Slightly different hub shell, but SP also does the Supernova hubs, that have their own shape, but same internals, with some additional seals, or so I've read. The plastic part on the side, with the connectors and plug, even seems to have the SP logo on it, allthough can't see all of it in the pictures.
So it's good, but might as well buy SP PV-8, as you can get it cheeper. -

I guess there's no option but to just do it internally if that's what you want, but it might also be pretty subtle to put heat shrink tubing or something like that on the gear cable on the downtube and route the taillight cable in it to the rear mech. And then drill the racks leg for the cable.
I just got a dynamo taillight too, and put the cable under the rear brake cable clips I have on the top tube, as there's no braze ons. And am looking for alternatives.

This sounds interesting too: http://hardcro.com/
Might be a nice place to visit.
1400km with all kinds of services on the controls, so bit like PBP, LEL or other big brevets, but racing.

Wouldn't say not having rack mounts is that big of a deal with the support struts on a bagman, as there won't be much pressure on them, so a seatpost clamp with eyelet for this is enough. I believe carradice sells one, and there are others too. Or they can be bolted to the brake bridge like I did (there's a picture a couple of pages back). Bit of a bodge, but does the job.

There's discussion in fb about a group ride to Bandirma and taking a ferry from there to Istanbul on the 14th.
