Bought a nice condition Mavic 3G rear with the interchangeable hub system. It's currently set up for freewheel screw on. I'd like to convert it to cassette.
Do hubs exist, I've seen on US forums that there are repro ones, if not where can I find one? Would someone swap me a cassette hub for a screw on?
I'm thinking Mavic won't be supporting the hub anymore..

It's got the drilled out upper race, C stamped on the races, but essentially it came off an original complete '86 Colnago which I bought in Milan, C Record throughout with some odd first gen design parts.
What you'll find in catalogues is about 70% of the story, especially with Campagnolo, and especially so with first variants. They're pretty far from definitive. If you've ever been to the factory in Vicenza you can see how quickly they can tool up for modification to a component line, often within 24hrs. I was talking to one of their design engineers who said they'd made over 80 modifications to the Delta brakes - that's a lot of production iterations.
They're not like shimano, where there's only a new product upgrade every 5 years, Campagnolo are special! Rumour mill has it they're introducing an integrated Pinarello specific group for 2016. Can't see shimano even attempting that ;)

I guess I'm fortunate to have the real thing in fit front of me and don't have to rely on largely unreliable catalogues (the dates of printing rarely relate to the actual parts in the retail chain, and never take into account European or US variations)
Here's C Record from 1986 with traditional top nut:

It's actually the top race that is milled out for lightness which is the real differentiation. Early Chorus and Athena don't have this 'lip' in your photos and are virtually indistinguishable from Record. Also early C Record had a standard top nut like Super Record. I've got one on a Gitane which was near impossible to get off!

The C Record version the top race cup is drilled (3mm holes) all the way round for lightness.
This looks like an Athena.

I suppose the one comfort with quality steel frames is even if they so take a head on the front end is do strong that unless it's a totally catastrophic impact it rarely damages the triangle.
I bought a Master Olympic years ago that had defo been in a head on and rode it for five years with zero issues. Of course it's a good idea to get the track checked.. IME it's usually just some egit misplaced the forks in a house/shop move. Colnago forks though - shocking $$$s to replace :(
