Not quite as bad as that but I once locked my bike outside the Apple Tree in Clerkenwell and when I came back to it a few hours later I couldn't find the key.... Brief moment of panic, then spotted I'd left it sticking out of the lock. Did feel silly and lucky.

Did this over 2 days this weekend, pretty epic ride. The wind gave us a helping hand for most of it. It's a tough ride but arriving in Eastbourne early Sunday evening was a great feeling.

There were six of us, all the guys on CX bikes punctured at least once, so yeah I think MTB and tubeless is the way to go really, if you have the choice. Also means you get to enjoy the descents.

This is great - I'm jealous and inspired in equal measures, and may well copy this idea and do something very similar in the spring.

Does anyone have a 30.9 seatpost lying around, that I could perhaps collect in the next day or two?

Just remembered - on Thursday night a cat tried to kill me. I was cycling home and suddenly saw something blurry flying towards my front wheel - thought it was maybe a fox or a dog. I couldn't get out the way in time... I swerved and thought I was going down but managed to stay upright. I guess it bounced off the spokes and I felt it hit my left foot. Slowed right down and looked back and saw a cat slinking away, seems like we both escaped unscathed!

I've got a pair of these MTB pedals, surplus to requirements. BNIB as per photos. RRP is £59.99. Reviews say they're great and they certainly look decent, but I haven't used them.
