came back from Japan a couple of weeks ago with a pretty decent haul. my previous experience with japanese whisky here was with the usual NAS stuff which i thought was pretty rubbish and didn't understand the hype. Tried the aged stuff out there and mind blown. hard to track down even out there and pretty pricey. highly recommend going to the actual distilleries as you can try all the age statements in their lines for cheaps. did yamazaki and nikka distilleries and assorted whisky bars to try everything i could and then pissed off the mrs by traipsing around as many liquor stores as shrines! had a really interesting convo with the owner of one of the whisky bars we drank at who was saying how sad he and others he knew were about the distilleries flooding the market with nas at inflated prices to feed the demand. he thinks its going to give japanese whisky a bad name once people wise up and realise they're not drinking great stuff for silly money. there seems to be a knock on trend of new distilleries getting into other spirits like gin and rum instead, which is really exciting. tasted some amazing japanese rums but couldn't find a single bottle in any of the shops.

have they stopped making the old flat style v2 zero cleats? left c spring snapped the other day, have replaced with old right hander for now but thought id get some new cleats for when they die and cant find them anywhere! only the new more expensive walkable ones. if theyve stopped making them anyone got a pair of the older v2 style knocking about?

frame looks like my standard peugeot carbolite do-everything-town-bike...
edit: just looked at mine and this one hasn't got the visible seat stays joining the seat tube. this one is also missing the braze on downtube bosses. otherwise identical, from the one set of bottle bosses to the internal cable routing to the fork crown etc

definitely jis taper cranks. some of those have funny BCDs. worth measuring before you get a chainring...

yup that will be a jis bb. post a picture of the crankset? dont use cottered axle length, will be waaaaaay out! if its a road double being used for single ring up front, and you want to use the outer ring, then you want it pretty close, 110/107 maybe even 103. thats if you are running it to a fixed hub at the back, but then you mention geared set up? there is definitely an element of guesswork involved in trying to marry road cranks to spindle length and chainline.
