For future mods, I am looking at installing a black ITM quill stem and matching handlebars, finishing with white tape. I want to go for a classic 80s/90s Tour de France look. Pretty much identical to Fignon's setup here....
The ultimate piece to finish the bike off would be some Mavic Open Pro black tubular rims. Proper shallow rims and classic 80s/90s Pro look. Take a look at Roger De Vlaeminck's ride in this brochure shot...
-
It started out with a 9 speed Campy Record groupset and black Conti tyres. I wanted to use some tan wall tyres and opted for some Challenge Strada foldable "open tubular" tyres.
I also bought some titanium button head screws for the bottle cage mounts and for the downtube cable tension adjusters, which are titanium nitride coated gold colour to match various other gold accents, like the original countersunk screws for the rear dropouts and the GIOS chrome fork colour fill.

It is a Compact Pro from the 90s, I believe. Swapped out a Record 9 speed groupset and fitted a Record 10 speed groupset.
A few paint chips on the frame, but it is in wonderful condition and I just can't help but to gaze at it sometimes. My girlfriend admitted she is a bit jealous of the GIOS... haha.

@DayTripper_Mk2 Happy to post. I'll send you some images for you to have a look at. I'll let you know if @jj72 wants the DA levers or the other ones.
-
@jj72 - I have listed BL-7401 Dura Ace Levers and BL-R400 in new condition.
I can provide some more images if you want to see more detail. Drop me a PM of which lever you want to see more pictures of.

Pelizzoli are still building frames! They look really cool. Especially the Curdomo frame. http://www.ciclipelizzoli.it/road/curdomo/

@billygoat8 love old brochures! I read somewhere that Concorde frames where built in various places but most regarded frames were built in Italy, by Pelizzoli (or Ciocc?) I believe. Do you know if this is true?
Apparently frames with the number hanger, like on mine, were built from Columbus's racing tubing. Also, not sure if that is true but maybe you have more info on that than me.

That looks really nice @billygoat8 The gumwall tyres with black rims is an awesome combo.
I think the Gavina was higher spec than the Aquila, wasn't it? -

I ended up opting for a 9 speed Campagnolo groupset. Record front and rear mech, crankset, headset, Athena skeleton calipers, Veloce Shifters. A bit of a mix and match of Campy stuff, but still looks good to me...
Modolo handlebars and Nitto Pearl stem. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the finish on the Nitto stems are so much nicer than the Cinelli 1A alternatives. -
-
I think @cycleclinic is talking about the rear mech not having much use.
-
@HoKe The DA front mech is still available.

Thanks for the comment. It is a nice bike. Love Italian steel frames of the 80s and 90s.
I am selling off some parts and it is a nightmare trying to upload images. I do not know if it is to do with me using a Mac, but I just can't seem to upload images sometimes. Even after I try editing the comment. Anyways, I have to keep trying because folks are requesting for more images of the parts haha.

Using a Mac and I am having trouble uploading images. I can select the images to upload but then i do not see any uploading images or nothing. As if I did not select the images to upload. I have to try and try again and just hope they uploaded without actually seeing any info on the screen. I remember I used to upload with no problem. The mini thumbnail of my images would inform me of what I have selected and is uploading.
Anyone have any solutions?
I am looking for advice on how to touch up tiny paint chips, buff out paint and filling in deeper chips.
For scuffs marks on the paint, I believe T-Cut would work well to just remove the thin layer of scuffed paint and take out any hairline scratches to paint. I have not tried it myself but looking for any input based on experience.
As for the paint chips, I have a few which are so small, they have not chipped the base colour coat. Other chips are to the bare metal frame. So, how would you recommend filling/touching these types of chips?
Is it ok to use an enamel paint and just a fine brush?
For reference, I have posted some of the defects I am talking about...
Thanks in advance Cicli gang!
