Bikes on Wheels in Kensington Market is a goodun. I think they organise rides too.

Riding through the ravine can be nice in the summer, but it'll probably be a bit soggy this time of year.. If you've got the time, head out East towards Scarborough Bluffs - so beautiful, and if you wiggle your way through the Beaches and take a longer route, then you can (almost) avoid the ugly burbs..
