I have 30 year old plain white crockery from the Spode seconds shop. It was unblemished when I bought it, and hasn't shown any signs wear in the time it has been in daily use.

I like the idea of it. It carries with it, the price of a significantly larger footprint.

Without stating the bleeding obvs. any of the Greek islands that don't have an airport are going to be much quieter than those that do. I lived on Corfu for just over a year, which is about as touristy as it gets. Our favourite islands for escape were Serifos and Folegandros.
ETA: Folegandros is a ~7hr boat ride from Piraeus. Most people, having flown in to Athens, aren't going to embrace the prospect of 14 hrs on a boat cutting in to their holiday time - so they don't go there. Greeks holiday there. Prices for everything are accordingly low.

I had about a month's worth of food stashed as my 'What if the food supply chain goes tits up after Brexit'. After the mice ate most of the rice and pasta, I still have all of the tinned stuff. Including a tin of Full English Breakfast (Likely that'd be the last tin to be opened).

What about something like a scaffold pole attached horizontally to the wall using stand-offs?
