It's very annoying, partly cos it took ages to take said enticing picture down from the kudos against the ride, which is kind of embarrassing! and Ride with GPS, seriously - that's surely clutching at straws, they must get no return or benefit from going to those lengths!

How hard is it to write what sounds to me like a simple plugin for a website? More specifically, it is for RidewithGPS, and what I am hugely keen to be able to do (but falls on deaf ears when I have suggested it to them) is to be able, on the search page, to search not just by "Starts within" but also by "Finishes within" - to my mind that massively improves the search facility to the extent it's weird it's not already an option, can I personally come across the need to be able to do that all the time... I'm wondering if it would be possible to just do it myself...!

I'm sure it's a lot harder than it sounds, but interested to know exactly how hard!

Hey, wondering if anyone has a short offcut or spare bit of heatshrink tube going spare - I'm making a little climbing rope dog lead and want to try tidying up the loose ends off the knots with a bit... Rope is 11mm so I guess 25mm starting diameter of the heatshrink would be right as it would shrink down to the double thickness and the single thickness of the rope - in fact if anyone could confirm that it would also be great as I've never used it before 😁

Agreed with Osmand - I used it for ages until I first got a Garmin, it's so good but battery life on the phone with the screen on made it impractical once rides were of a significant length.
Thinking about it, wonder if you can run Osmand on a Hammerhead?

Yep as others above I run my 820 all the time when navigating with map screen on and current speed as one field, current heading as the other. If I want the full data breakdown it's one screen swipe away, the elevation profile a swipe the other way... Works for me without metrics overload

You can set however many data fields on the navigation screen on a Garmin Edge as you want, and select what they are. So you could just have one data field showing compass heading at the time, if you wanted. Or just have two: current speed and compass heading, something like that.
