Spent all week walking up and down an office 9-5. So so so happy to be swapping between Loakes, Barkers, and another lesser brand that I had re-balanced. Feels so good to finish a day and regardless of being tired, the shoes haven't caused any pains.

Been using the Arcane super flat resin pedals for about two years. They've migrated from one bike to another, and work well with Gusset straps. Bit slippy in bad weather wearing DC's or Airwalks, but the strap's there for a reason.

Destroyed a pair of moccasins within one short ride, though.

Insane bargain

For all the bad shit, I still would choose to call out the cunt audi driver cunting along and accelerating into a roundabout, nearly into my kneecaps this afternoon. That annoyed me a lot more than the guys with no lights on the path on the way in/home.

On phone so haven't been able to check your pics or the prices properly. Going rate for ones that are like new (oem off bikes I guess) is around £30 on ebay. Would need to check your pics, my budget was less depending on condition.

Btw last 105's I bought were about £10~£15 used condition, if you need a price on them.

yup....had my first real truing and managed to get it acceptable even with the spoke missing. It's an old 36h mavic, pretty sure it's okay at low speeds until I can get to the bike shop. Taking the basic toolkit to help a mate tomorrow anyway.

Keen to get new wheels soon. Haven't seen any v-sprint in the wild, but they are only beaten on price by the most entry level shimano/fulcrum wheelsets....

Just a follow-up, now everyone's getting over the bang-gate incident...

Turns out a spoke snapped at the hub end, clean snap just after the curve. Maybe the wheel is salvageable. Maybe I should just dump them and go even more minus-money with the bank for a new set.

My new (ish) Loakes felt weird today. Worn less than half a dozen times now I think, and a few times were longish walks to break them in. Felt like my heel was walking on the inside, rather than straight, tried to correct it as I was walking, deliberately walking on the outside of the shoe. Long day later, the upper certainly is slanted inward. Not sure what to do, but I can feel it when walking.

They were used wheels, and have been treated a little harsh, but it was a surprise. I give the bike a bounce before each right, but I will probably call it a day on them now (after a final trip home). I'm hoping the rim hasn't split, I'd be praying for spectacular de-tension.

Two week mon-fri temp job. Riding in nice and slow with a friend, suddenly there's a loud pang! and a bump. I look down and the front wheel is buckled without any clues why.

No tools and 6 miles home later, gonna be a fun wobble if I can make enough brake clearance.
